感觉孤独是他一生的注解，但是这个孤独的人又对世界充满了探索的欲望。

非無病呻吟，而是真正的寂寞
一本前四章让人心塞死并且完全陷入作者营造的气氛不能自拔的书，但是到了第五章Salvation of Geography又一下子被治愈了。全书结尾是一段黑夜里独行的路。

上课讲到Tuan,于是分享了自己的阅读经历，打开豆瓣才发现当时读完忘记标记了。2022.3.22读完，从NUS CLB借阅。很喜欢自传，远超过看学术专著的喜欢:)
每天都想读它，体验沉浸式的孤独。但我没想到，整本读完，印象最深的居然是段老师重复了很多次Tiffany Apple。又及，我也不太喜欢热带雨林。
为何选择地理学去探知人生意义（what are we doing here, what do we want out of life.）? 这些问题难道不是经由哲学宗教的途径更合适吗？这些回答虽然是私人的（Tuan的理由是私人的），但也提供了地理学可以给这些问题何种视野的解释。独身的精英主义。
段祺瑞的血亲，一副生来被安放在中心的目光，却偏爱离心力，于纷驰杂流间离开近代中国那片执拗的田地。于是终于产生了，在那些关于奋斗与苦难的陈词之外另一种稀有而又幽深的激情。诚然，即使有所有那些用学院派的幽默所陈述的关于自己bourgeois身份的自嘲，中间的一部分书写仍不免显得乏力，但他对自身局限的体认足够深刻。对比康德当年的地理学讲录，这般暧昧的深沉，已经是不同的东西了。
