多思妥耶夫斯基最好的长篇，我买这本书的时候，书店老板说这本书的英语译本非常好。我拿回家看，和另外一本女翻译家翻译的比起来，这本少了情绪，更忠实的表达了原文的面貌。

People only unfold, accordingly, under constantly changing conditions. However, as to whether a great understanding and depiction of the nature of human mind is a value in itself when gauging literary merit, that’s a question open to debate.
道德拷问＋肥皂剧式的情节＝好看，热闹，深刻
Richard Pevear 和老婆 Larissa Volokhonsky合作翻译的这个版本据说就是英文版里面最好的一个版本了。

在此时此刻读完这本书五味陈杂。宏大叙事如若不建立在具体人物（们）的经历或者故事之上只可能空洞、虚伪、扁平。坨翁的伟大在于此。
