The chase introduces him to potty-trained alligators, a fake-fart champion, some burrowing owls, a renegade eco-avenger, and several extremely poisonous snakes with unnaturally sparkling tails.

2022完成的第一本书，去年读了一半停了，确实比较一般，没太有意思。

真的属于上手停不下来的书，很真实地刻画美国孩子纯真的想法和敢于实现的样子。

我给了一个高分，因为这本书很真实，有触发我心灵的闪光点。
一个男生Roy见到一个跑步很快的男生Mullet，忍不住想去追赶，没想被校园凌霸Dana揪住，又被Mullet 同父异母的姐姐撞到。之后就发生了保护环境的一系列故事。为了保护猫头鹰，几个小伙伴不顾安危，和大公司、警察斗智斗勇，最后胜出。
故事讲了人性的阴暗面。Mullet是连生母都厌恶，警察想通过感谢信得到重用，而公司在违规的情况下强买强拆。
在国内应该不会有这样对抗的小说吧？虽然是童书，却赢得了我的尊重。
剧情还有点趣味，有的细节挺好玩的，不够精彩，结局平淡了点，还好，8分吧。
小朋友的视角里，一点点校园暴力一点点日常好奇一点点自己的倔强一点点强求的友谊；再加上巡检的视角，最后凑成一个美好的成人童话！
后半部质量开始下滑，结尾一言难尽，但这种“为不能保护自己的小人物站出来”的精神我很珍惜，所以给4星。这是珍贵的正义感和勇气，是我缺乏的勇气（但书中的人物太幸运了
