classic in the 80s
人类学经典中离现在最近也比较有水平的一本。国内的译本不可据。
其实我连中文本都没有耐心读完，咳，装装样子！
关于斗鸡的那个描述太精彩！学问到最后，都是要从云端回到地面。
【宗教人类学】读religion as a cultural system这一篇。英文读起来比中文通顺多了。。。格尔茨真是大师啊，文章写得很漂亮，逻辑其实也很清楚。有时间要把英文版的笔记誊上来。|||| 这本书我不知道读了几遍，但总是常读常新。第一次读应该是12年12月去巴厘岛的飞机上读的斗鸡那章。残存的一个记忆是看到飞机经过划分整齐的田野、高低不一的丘陵的时候。我在想，究竟哪一块土地是当时“身患疟疾、自信不足”的格尔茨夫妇们踏过的呢？

斗鸡部分太有意思，杀人放火金腰带仅限在小世界的恶游戏里，有的人玩了也还是不care那些游戏里的等级制度，更不可能适用于自己的现实人生，就好像fighting club在地下伤了人，他们拿游戏的规则来压玩家，玩家可能根本不care...该干嘛干嘛，外界的人理都不理野兽们的pua,更大的规则不由他们定。
如果一门学科既不寻求generalization又不寻求prediction, 那它凭什么自称科学？疯狂罗列一堆ism, ization和ality也无法掩盖这本书空洞无物的事实。
读了thick description一章，深受启发
