书籍介绍

The only guide to getting ahead once you’ve gotten in—proven strategies for making the most of your college years, based on winning secrets from the country's most successful students

What does it take to be a standout student? How can you make the most of your college years—graduate with honors, choose exciting activities, build a head-turning resume, and gain access to the best post-college opportunities? Based on interviews with star students at universities nationwide, from Harvard to the University of Arizona, How to Win at College presents seventy-five simple rules that will rocket you to the top of the class. These college-tested—and often surprising—strategies include:

• Don’t do all your reading

• Drop classes every term

• Become a club president

• Care about your grades, Ignore your GPA

• Never pull an all-nighter

• Take three days to write a paper

• Always be working on a “grand project”

• Do one thing better than anyone else you know

Proving that success has little to do with being a genius workaholic, and everything to do with playing the game, How to Win at College is the must-have guide for making the most of these four important years—and getting an edge on life after graduation.

Takeaways: (1) take art history & astronomy mods as they’re difficult to learn on your own, thus college might be the last time you can learn to become culturally literate (2) don’t network; impress (3) try to eat only 2 meals alone a day; meet friends for meals at least on a weekly basis
Any college kid can take at least 20 tips from the book and improve even just a little on their college life. Freshman summer is a good time to read this. It allows me to combine what I’ve been through in the past year with all the imperatives.

思维条理都很清晰,有一些帮助吧。比如befriend with prof study system之类的,学习 娱乐 生活都有涉及,而且欣慰的发现,书中不少鼓励学生去做的都是我早就下定决心就实施的,例如take a honor program/ minor/ conduct research early. 对两个月后的新大学生活充满期待。
名字虽然很狗血,但真的很有用!!深受鼓舞啊!
2023.9.10-10.6 If you want to succeed because you love the excitement of pushing your potential and exploring your world and new experiences, then you will win. Don’t have no regrets.
还是很有帮助的,这些点子基本上都很贴合实际
