很有趣的故事，而且劳伦斯作品的情色还需要细细揣摩才能感受得到。比较直观地能看到劳伦斯一贯的主题：恋母情结和拜金主义。
劳伦斯并非弗洛伊德的铁杆拥趸，也曾否定过俄狄浦斯情结，但是他的小说中却处处有俄狄浦斯情结的影子
