作者简介
Eileen Chang (1920-1995) was a renowned Chinese author born into an aristocratic Shanghai family. Despite a turbulent upbringing, she became a literary star after publishing collections of stories and essays. Her work was deeply influenced by her complex family life and the political turmoil of her time. After studying literature and facing the Japanese occupation, Chang's career flourished, culminating in a move to the United States and a distinguished academic career. Her writing spanned various genres, including novels, short stories, and screenplays, and her influence extended beyond her native China, reaching Taiwan, Hong Kong, and eventually the mainland. Despite her acclaim, Chang became increasingly reclusive in her later years, ultimately passing away in Los Angeles in 1995.
