Lauren Groff, born in Cooperstown, N.Y., is a distinguished author known for her evocative storytelling. Educated at Amherst College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned an MFA in fiction, Groff has established herself as a formidable voice in contemporary literature. Her short stories have been featured in prestigious journals like *The Atlantic Monthly* and *Ploughshares*, and anthologies such as *Best American Short Stories 2007*. Recognized for her awards, including the Axton Fellowship in Fiction and fellowships at Yaddo and the Vermont Studio Center, Groff’s work is celebrated for its raw emotional depth and inventive prose. Currently living in Gainesville, Florida, she continues to push the boundaries of short fiction with her haunting and lyrical narratives.
